Spirit of Indifference and Spiritual dryness
Enlighten me. Why do christians in Singapore get spiritually dry easily, to the point of being bo-chap about things upon God's heart? (not nurturing their own spiritual garden thru neglect of prayer and spending time with Him)
This week, I read an article on North Korea's matyrs which really really inspired me. The 4 young guys (below 20 yrs) knew what they were in for when they chose to follow Christ but they passionately followed. To the extend of standing up for their own faith in the midst of the communist government's questioning & torture. They are so young in their faith and yet, their hunger for God is evident in their lives. Are we hungering enough for Him?
Another video that i watched in LTP course caused a burning passion in my heart to see lost souls saved for Christ.Unsaved people = Those who have been given a chance to respond to the gospel and rejected it. Unreached people= Those who will die without even hearing about who Jesus is. There are many people out there who needs to hear the gospel but in Singapore, many of us are caught up in our own world, on how Jesus can fix our problems that we miss out the whole big picture of our purpose on this earth!
Where is the hunger? The thirst for God's truth? I can feel God's heart, he is hurting because of our response to Him.
How can a shepherd then lead his flock in such a situation? Here's what Pastor Shern says: It is sad but true. I think it is not just Singaporeans but all Christians who get dry easily when we don't stay connected to the Lord by abiding in His Word and enjoying His presence thru worship, prayer and fellowship. We probably help best by being ourselves well-fed and watered in the fullness of the Spirit. Then we are led of God to bring His perspective to others in His way with grace and truth. Also, we can't lead others to places we have not been ourselves.
Yup, my dad also shared the same thing. As a leader, our walk with God must be strong, know where to get your strength from so that you don't burn out as a leader.
What are your thoughts? Why do christians in Singapore get dry easily and how can a leader help?
Deeply loved by Him .
